Donation of 10,000 Face Masks and 24 Medical Beds

Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah) has provided COVID-19 prevention and medical supplies to the Department of Health, Philippines. The donation includes 10,000 face masks and 24 medical beds intended for use in the modular ward at the Quezon Medical Research Institute. This facility, constructed in December of this year for the treatment of severe COVID-19 patients, features 44 beds and accommodations for medical staff. It is expected to be fully completed in February of the coming year, with a total of five buildings with 110 rooms.

On December 21, the WeLoveU’s prevention and medical supplies donation ceremony was held at the Department of Health building. WeLoveU members, Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega, as well as medical staff and department heads from the Department of Health, attended the event. Vega commented, “The construction of the modular ward and the support from the WeLoveU were made at the right time and I appreciate all of WeLoveU’s global humanitarian activities.”

On December 28, the donated items from the WeLoveU were delivered to the ward. The beds were swiftly assembled and moved into patient rooms, being ready to receive patients. A medical specialist showed members around the well-organized ward, expressing gratitude, “Thank you for your assistance during this challenging pandemic. I am confident that the donated items will be put to good use.”

Members who toured the neatly arranged ward expressed their hope that patients receiving treatment here would quickly recover and safely return to their families. WeLoveU intends to persist in supporting the smooth operation of COVID-19 prevention and treatment systems in the Philippines until a reliable supply of vaccines is secured.
