Donation of Operation Expenses for a Vietnamese Child With Heart Disease
“Saving a Life” campaign, which is steadily carried out by the New Life Welfare Foundation, reaches Vietnam beyond the borders.
The New Life Welfare Foundation, which is taking the lead in saving the lives of children who are suffering from heart disease, leukemia and various intractable diseases, allied with Korea Child Protection Foundation to support two children with heart disease last November, and again supported two more children with the same disease this April.
Ungwen Jjung Deuk (14) and Hoang Ti Puang Ain (7) had been suffering from hereditary heart disease called “atrial septal defect.” Ain’s mother made up her mind to come to korea, hearing from the Vietnamese parents that their children’s operations were successful, being supported by the New Life Welfare Foundation and that the children recovered their health last year.

On arriving in Korea, Deuk and Ain went through ultrasonography immediately. While they were waiting for their operations, they visited the Namsan Park in Seoul, where the 3rd New Life Family Walkathon was held on April 25 and greeted 6,000 participants. The participants gave them a big round of applause, wishing them successful operation and good health.
Deuk with a pure smile took an operation on 26th and Ain like a cute little princess on 27th respectively. When the members visited the hospital on May 10, prior to their departure, they looked much better than before the operation.
Enjoying fried chicken and snacks that the members brought them, the two children posed with various and naughty expressions on their faces whenever they were taken pictures. All the children are innocent whether they are Korean or Vietnamese. The members had a wonderful time, helping them eat meals.

Despite the language problem caused by the absence of an interpreter, they communicated with body language and laughed heartily, understanding each other as if they had been close relatives rather than strangers from far away countries. On the 11th, the members saw offDeuk and Ain and their parents at the airport, presenting them albums of photos they took together the other day.
Departing for Vietnam, the two children smiled brightly and their parents expressed their thanks with tearful eyes in Korean though they were not good at the language. Now,Deuk and Ain must be absorbed in enjoying their hobbies that they couldn’t before because of their illness. Deuk said he liked playing a keyboard and that Ain was good at singing and dancing. We wish they maybe healthy and happy for the rest of their lives.
