Why Does WeLoveU Emphasize Hand Hygiene ✨?

Since hands are one of the main carriers of germs
—with more than 150 types of microorganisms commonly found on the palms
—this practice is key to protecting health and preventing diseases.
Germ transmission through unwashed hands can cause a range of illnesses,
from respiratory infections to waterborne diseases.
Yet, proper handwashing remains one of the most effective ways
to stop the spread of these infections.

Florence Nightingale emphasized handwashing during the Crimean War,
transforming field hospital conditions and reducing mortality rates
of wounded soldiers from about 40 percent to just 2 percent.
Even earlier, in the mid-19th century, obstetrician Ignaz Semmelweis
achieved groundbreaking results by encouraging physicians
to wash their hands before delivering babies,
lowering maternal mortality rates from 18% to less than 2%.

By instilling this simple but essential habit in children today,
the initiative hopes to protect health, prevent disease,
and continue the legacy of lifesaving hygiene practices.

Proper Handwashing 🖐✨: How Should It Be Done❓

Proper handwashing removes more than 90% of germs on the hands
and can prevent up to 60% of infectious diseases.
