“We support the children’s dream”
The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation donated school supplies to elementary school students in La Paz, Tarlac, Philippines. It is the Engracio M. Castaneda Central Elementary School having about a thousand students from grade 1 to 6.
Among the student, some had to walk over 30 minutes under the scorching sun to get to school, and some others found it hard to actively participate in classes due to the lack of school supplies. The WeLoveU Foundation decided to donate school supplies and bags to 100 students in economic difficulties.
On October 24, the WeLoveU’s donation ceremony of school supplies was held in the schoolyard of Engracio M. Castaneda Central Elementary School, being attended by about 160 people: the students who were receiving the donation, their parents, the teachers, officials from the local government and the main office of education, including Venustiano O. Jordan the Mayor of La Paz.
The donation ceremony began with a special performance prepared by the school’s marching band. Next, Sheila D. Mabutol the School Principal and guests delivered welcome speeches. Principal Sheila D. Mabutol was happy to have formed a relationship with the WeLoveU, saying, “The WeLoveU has passion for giving love to the whole world. Their work is of great value, and we can feel from their title, ‘WeLoveU,’ that they are trying to embrace all people with love.”
Mayor Venustiano O. Jordan too thanked the WeLoveU through his congratulatory message, saying, “I’m so thankful to the WeLoveU for carrying out a meaningful job for people in need of help.” The WeLoveU members donated notebooks, a school stationery set, a school bag, and an umbrella to each student. The students were brightly smiling with the colorful school bags and umbrellas with WeLoveU logos.
The schoolteachers were happy that the students, who were passive during class before, started to concentrate on their studies thanks to the donation of school supplies from the WeLoveU. The WeLoveU will continue to support the students who need a helping hand, so that they may continue with their learning.
