Creating Pollinator Gardens | Mom’s Garden Project

At Emma & Nicholas DiPietro Park in East Hartford, Connecticut, the International WeLoveU Foundation established two pollinator gardens as part of the Mom’s Garden Project.

A pollinator garden is a habitat designed to provide pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and birds withs food, including nectar and pollen, as well as shelter and breeding grounds.

In July 2025, after more than a year of planning and preparation, the project was finally completed.

We hope these pollinator gardens, created with a mother’s heart, will help restore the city’s ecological vitality and play a meaningful role in bringing renewed beauty and vitality to the local community.

“We’re celebrating the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Mom’s Garden Project, spearheaded by the WeLoveU Foundation.
I think at least its impact on the community is that it’s going to help continue to build pride here in East Hartford.
As it relates to the environment, it continues to push the importance of pollination.”
