The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation established by Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, installed water tanks and water coolers at Zilla Parishad High School, Himayat Nagar, India, on March 9–14.

Clean water and healthy dreams

Majority of the public schools in India have poor educational environment due to financial difficulties. It was the same with Zilla Parishad High School, Himayat Nagar, located in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The biggest challenge that the school is faced with is that there isn’t good supply of water in the school, attended by 300 middle school students from grade 6 to 10. As a result, the students had trouble, making use of the restroom, and they could not drink water to their hearts’ content even though they thirsted for water. They drank water from the tap, but the water was not clean and it put the health of the children at risk.

The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation decided to install water tanks and water purification facility at the school to help them live a healthy school life. On March 9, 15 WeLoveU members visited the school, and started installing water tanks on the rooftop of the school. After it was set up, the water ran well in the restroom. Afterward, a water purification facility was installed in the principal’s office, and the work of setting up a pipe, which connects the water purification facility and the water tank, was carried out over three days.

On the 14th, the members revisited the school and installed water coolers in the office of the school. They set up an iron gate for the restroom, and newly painted the walls. Finally, the restroom became safe and clean. The students can now make use of the restroom conveniently in the school, and drink clean water.

Fifteen members from the Hyderabad Chapter of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah) visited Zilla Parishad High School in Himayat Nagar to install water tanks and water purification facilities.
